On this page you will find words from the headmistress as well as a brief presentation of the school and for our international students, the public works programs it offers. We will also present the European class and the Erasmus exchanges and we will finish with the list of our partners.
“I have been at the helm of this campus since 1 September 2013. By my side, a well-established educational team is involved in a continuous process of personal, academic and professional achievements of students. I would like to congratulate them for their sincere and genuine commitment to the mission and values of our school. We were lucky enough to be visited by Mrs Najat Vallaud Belkacem, Minister for Education and Skills, who appreciated our deep involvement in our educational mission, in line with national policy and objectives. With regard to on-the-job training and initial education, we respond to the needs and training requirements of industrial companies and employees, but also of unemployed young people and adults changing careers.”
Olivier THIRIET, Principal of the Lycée des Travaux Publics Jean Bertin
First and foremost our boarding school opened its doors to students in 1972. In response to a need to equip young people with skills in public works, the professional sectors and educational authorities created a specific high school – the only one in the northern half of France.
This was the starting point for continuous improvement and adaptation to the world of work. In 2000, in order to provide modernized, high quality facilities for students and staff, the school was completely rebuilt. In 2005, apprenticeship sections for the craft industry were created. Then in 2013, our school became the only French « Campus des Métiers » specializing in public works and civil engineering. Finally this label is the official recognition by the professional sectors of the academic and practical expertise of our trade school.
We offer a wide range of professional and technical degrees and the most comprehensive range of specific apprenticeships, from road building to civil engineering as well from truck driving to heavy equipment mechanics and more. Our students develop the technical and professional skills needed to progress to an apprenticeship, university or the modern workplace.
There are 3 types of training offered at the campus :

Our school offers you the possibility, thanks to the Erasmus+ exchange program, to do your internship abroad. In 2017 we were able to send 6 students from the final year of secondary school to Galway in Ireland for a 3-week work placement. The objective? To improve their English in their field and to improve their future employability abroad.
At last our high school offers you the possiblity to follow an international program with some of our partners.
